Upper Barrakka Gardens
The Upper Barrakka Gardens are probably the most visited place of Malta. The gardens offer shade, art, refreshments and a truly fabulous view of the Grand Harbour.
An Italian knight of the Order of St John, Flamino Balbiano, had taken the initiative to create this garden. Here the history and the 'being of Malta' comes to life and one can easily understand why all these other civilisations tried to conquer Malta and take possession of its Grand Harbour. The Gardens are home to many works of art and memorial plaques.
