Daily, at 12.00 noon and 16.00hrs, a historical re-enactment takes place here by people wearing period costumes of British military of WWI. During the re-enactment, a cannon is fired ceremoniously. In the past, the noon-day gun was a means to adjust ship's clocks, especially when they had come from a different time zone, via Gibraltar or the Suez Canal.
