Building - Palazzo Constanzo
Palazzo Costanzo
This Palazzo was formerly the residence of a noble Sicilian family.
The building in baroque style is constructed in 1666 by Tomaso Costanzo.
The building has two floors and underground cellars. The façade is symmetrical.
King Charles III of Sicily and Naples conferred the title of Duke of Paganica to the Costanzo Family. Thee were even records showing that the family had enjoyed high social standing before their arrival in Malta. Piero Costanzo was a senator in Messina, Giovanni was a judge in Palermo in the year 1478 while Matteo was a commander with the knights of Malta in de battle of Rodos in 1482. Francesco Constanzo, Baron of Santo Bartolomeo lived in a fine palace in Mirto, Sicily.
