Museum of tools, trade and traditions
The museum shows in showcases tools, trade and traditions.
One can see showcases for example, of watch making, cobblers, silver smiths, cooks, key making, carpenters, manual work, weights and measures, fire works, daily life, farming, etc., etc.
The father left some instruments from his pediatric practice to his stepdaughter Susan. This legacy also included many presents which patients and families had given to him.
Joseph, Susan’s husband, got inspired by all these instruments and presents, which often were small implements during the next 20 years the collection grew.
Now the collection and more items are accommodated in a museum in Palazzo de Piro. The museum has 5 main sections;
- from the field to the table;
- measuring our world;
- traditions;
- precision and ornament;
- the art of building.
