Church of our Lady of Mount Carmel St. Julians /Balluta bay
A neo-gothic chapel was built in 1859, dedicated to "Our Lady of Mount Carmel". The brotherhood of Valletta's "Our Lady of Mount Carmel" built this to a design by architect Giuseppe Bonavia.
The church was rebuilt in 1877 under the direction of architect Emanuele Luigi Galizia.
The church was then transferred to the Carmelites, who rebuilt the church in 1900 based on plans by architect Gustavo R. Vincenti. The church was enlarged in 1958. In 1974 the Carmelite church was chosen as a parish church and was consecrated in 1984.
